Blackwood Engineering Trust recently donated to TK’S and Community Group located in Tirzah Baptist Church, Ebbw Vale.
The trust made a donation to help the group maintain food bank supplies to affected local people in the surrounding area. The project provides food parcels to people either living alone or are older and more vulnerable.
The group also provides emergency hampers to people who have suddenly faced unemployment in the area.
The trust recently supported the Vasantham Trust in India by providing a monetary donation to help assist providing books and food to children temporarily forced to stay indoors due to Coronavirus.
The books were selected on three categories; story books for children, drawing books and crayons to develop foundational skills and biographies of great leaders. The books and snacks were recently distributed to their homes by the volunteers.
Talk Time (young children) and TalkAbout (youth group) sessions have continued throughout the summer for 21 plus albeit online, rather than face to face. With the move to zoom sessions the charity has had to invest in the technology to make this happen. Blackwood Engineering Trust helped facilitate the move online by helping finance equipment for online sessions.
One users parents added “Dylan has loved his weekly TalkAbout sessions throughout the summer and lockdown. They’ve been a weekly highlight in an otherwise uncertain time. He’s loved getting together (all be it online) with his mates and engaging in the structured tasks, as well as the opportunity to catch up with friends on a regular basis.”
